The defending champions had a bit of a shock start to the season when they lost the season opener to Durdanto Dhaka, a team that finished at the bottom of the table last time. Lost by 5 wickets, the Victorians being champions bounced back in no time as they beat Fortune Barishal by 4 wickets to claim valuable points. The win came on the back of a superb spell in the middle overs by the experienced Mustafizur Rahman.
The Fizz finished with figures 3/32 while claiming the priced wickets of Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim. Though the chase got off to a bumpy start, former captain, Imrul Kayes made sure there were no further hiccups in the chase.
